President, Chief Executive Officer
After nearly ten years of corporate experience, in 1996 Philip S. Brown decided to build his own company. Phil started Quantum Group in hopes of creating an invaluable service to clients in consolidating industries. Phil created a proven business model from the start and has effectively led Quantum group, industry insiders, and small-business owners through the highs and lows of various markets. His business acumen and ability to develop relevant, lasting relationships among industry peers is second to none.
Phil understands the difficulties of running a promising business. He started Quantum with a desk, a computer and a dream of creating a M&A firm that would not only last, but one that would represent clients interests first and foremost, protecting their life’s work and securing the best possible deal for the sale of their business. The reason Quantum is still in the game and number one today in the telecommunications industry is directly related to Phil’s resilience. He guided Quantum’s clients through the potential pitfalls of two recessions: the first caused by exploding market bubbles in the dot-com era followed by 9/11; and the second caused by the snapping of the real estate bubble in 2008.
In Quantum, you have a tenacious leader at the forefront of the negotiation process. If anyone can get the job done, it is Phil. If anyone can achieve price, it is Phil. If anyone can bring buyers to the table, it is Phil. Since the founding of Quantum, Phil has produced over a half a billion dollars in completed transactions and continues to produce unbelievable results for clients, putting their desires and needs first. This is the secret of his success: caring about Quantum’s clients.
Prior to starting Quantum, Phil served as Vice President for a mid-sized M&A firm where he assisted in and facilitated the acquisition of over $100 million in business deals. Phil gained corporate experience as a Senior Account Executive of the Equitable Financial Companies of New York, where he structured benefit packages for the largest physician groups in Arizona and provided asset management, estate planning and general financial services for clients. Before joining the Equitable, Phil served as a broker for a New York based investment-banking firm where he managed a portfolio worth $125,000,000. He worked primarily with small cap companies and on initial public offerings.
Today, Quantum maintains its corporate offices in Overland Park, Kansas and Phil lives in Leawood, Kansas with his youngest three children and loving wife.
